In 1968, The BAAS party came to power and AHMO HASSAN AL BAQIR became the new president of the Country.

President Baqir took the iraqi oil industry under Government control, the pressure on the Iraqi treasury  began to increase, and the Government began a new era of development in the Country. But Saddam Hussain's political ambitions began to grow and in the year 1989, He forced the resignation of his benefactor AHMU AL BAQIR and became the president himself. Soon the revealed a coup plot against him and the government  in his party's Revolutionary Council.

In order to expose the plot, Saddam Hussain called a meeting of the council members, in which Saddam hussain is shown sitting on a stage smoking a cigar while a list of those involved in the coup is read aloud, and those who take turn He is taken out of the meeting and arrested. But since the US invasion and occupation of Iraq, None of these allegations have not been proven.

On July 22, 2003, the two sons of president Saddam Hussain were attacked and killed in the northern City of Mosul, Iraq. on the Night of December 14, 2003 at 8 pm local time, Saddam Hussain was arrested during an operation near TIKRIT, IRAQ. After which He was tried under the supervision of the United State, which on November 3 sentenced Saddam Hussain to Death for the Murder of 148 people.

Following this Decision, President Saddam Hussain was hanged on December 30 2006. He was sentenced to death by the supreme court of Iraq for killing 148 people in DAJEEL in 1982.

These people were killed after being Arrested for the assassination of Saddam Hussain.

Along with Saddam Hussain , his step Brother, Former head of the Intelligence Service and former chief Justice were also hanged.

When the case was in its final stages and a new Judge was appointed. During the trial, president Saaddam Hussain Remained in the custody of the American occupation forces.

Three of Saddam Hussain's lawyers were killed during his trial, after which his clients boycotted the court proceedings and Saddam Hussain went on hunger strike. Before the end of the court proceedings, Saddam Hussain said in a letter to the court that his case was being conducted according to the wishes of the United state of the America.

Like many international trials, Saddam Hussain was tried by his own people. Saddam Hussain requested death by Firing squad after being sentenced to death.
